In the third trimester, the International Interdisciplinary Certificate Program in Jewish Studies is offering an open course for all interested participants: “Omeljan Pritsak’s Contribution to the Development of Jewish Studies.”

The lectures will be delivered by Taisiia Sydorchuk, Head of the Omeljan Pritsak Research Center for Oriental Studies at the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.”

Classes will take place online every Tuesday at 7:30 PM, starting May 20.

Participants who attend all lectures and complete the final test assignment will receive a certificate.

• Khazar and Karaite Themes in Omeljan Pritsak’s Research
• The Scholarly Potential of Omeljan Pritsak’s Library and Archival Collections for Jewish Studies Research

Participants will explore Pritsak’s personal contributions to Jewish studies, his experience in academic collaboration, and the work of the Ukrainian Research Institute at Harvard University under his leadership with Jewish scholars and research institutions. The course will also examine the treatment of Jewish studies topics in his scholarly output. Using the e-catalog and digitized materials, participants will analyze the significance of Pritsak’s personal library and archives, held at the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy,” for Jewish studies research.

Lecturer: Taisiia Sydorchuk – Head of the Omeljan Pritsak Research Center for Oriental Studies at the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy,” PhD in History, Senior Lecturer of the Jewish Studies Master’s Program at NaUKMA, and Head of the NaUKMA Museum.
