In the news review “War in Ukraine: Jewish News” published by Prof. David Fishman, the International Interdisciplinary Certificate Program in Jewish Studies was called “one of major Jewish adult education ventures in Kyiv.”

”There are two major Jewish adult education ventures in Kyiv these days. The more intense program is the International Certificate Program in Jewish Studies, a two-year program of study – which meets four evenings per week, 2 classes per evening,” Fishman wrote in his review.

Professor Fishman also highlighted the Diye-Slovo Studio as another important project, which serves as a media partner of the Certificate Program.

David Fishman is a Professor of History at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America (New York). He is the author of Books Smugglers: Partisans, Poets, and the Race to Save Jewish Treasures from the Nazis, The Rise of Modern Yiddish Culture, and co-author of Jewish Documentary Sources in Lviv Archives: A Guide, among others.

In 2022 and 2023, Prof. Fishman gave public courses as part of the International Interdisciplinary Certificate Program in Jewish Studies: “Jewish Religious and Secular Movements in Eastern Europe” and “Jewish Religion and Culture in the Soviet Union (1917–1952)”.
