From 13-15 July 2026, the “Stones of Remembrance” Jewish heritage research field camp will take place in the town of Kryzhopil and the village of Zhabokrych in Vinnytsia region, Ukraine.

The camp is organised by ESJF European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative, the Kryzhopil Settlement Council, and the International Interdisciplinary Certificate Program in Jewish Studies. The event is supported by the German Federal Foreign Office.

Participants can look forward to:

• practical workshops and lectures on Jewish history and heritage in Ukraine;
• field research at the Jewish cemetery in the village of Zhabokrych, Vinnytsia region;
• excursions to sites of historical and cultural interest in the Kryzhopil and Vinnytsia regions.

The camp is open to young people aged 18-25 who are interested in history, cultural heritage, and heritage preservation.

Participation is free of charge. Organisers will cover:

• accommodation for two nights in a hotel in Kryzhopil (double or triple rooms);
• three meals per day;
• all local transportation included in the programme.

Participants are responsible for arranging and covering the cost of their travel to Kryzhopil. The camp will begin on 13 July at 10:00. Participants should also arrange their return journey from Vinnytsia after the programme concludes on 15 July, after 20:00.
